Item 1 – Apologies

Item 2 – Minutes of the meeting held on 14th June 2007
Accepted as a correct record
Item 3 – Matters arising (not covered by main agenda items)
Under item 4, it was noted that Sheila Corrall had not yet finished writing up the results of her survey
Under item 5 it was noted that SW was continuing to work on an updated version of the 7 pillars model.
Under item 7 it was agreed that the recent minutes of meetings should be sent direct to MB by AM and older minutes deleted from website
Under item 8it was noted that MB had invited David Sadler (HEA) to the next WGIL meeting. (Action AM to contact MB to lead discussion on academic teams/development of academic skills at next WGIL meeting)
Under AOB Librarians and eligibility to register for Certificate in HE it was agreed to follow this up with David Sadler with the recommendation that a SCONUL statement was produced based on HEA guidelines.
Item 4 – CONUL/SCONUL workshop on IL for researchers
Dates either January 31st 2008 or February 1st 2008
Venue; Dublin City University
Some suggestions for the programme included
- Input from the RIN (Action AM to contact)
- Input from NTFs (Action MB to consider)
- SW volunteered to facilitate workshop
- David Streatfield suggested as contributor
(Action AM & EB to meet to draft programme)
(Action JH to contact Anne Bell re. funding)
Item 5 – Learning & Teaching Task and End group
JH updated the group in the absence of VC
Item 6 – IL literature review
SW circulated some initial drafts from key sections of the Literature review; discussion focussed on the model developed to represent the areas covered by the review and the identification of ethical and social issues within existing IL frameworks.
(Action SW to circulate model for comment/feedback)
The proposed publication date for the review is December 2007
Item 7 – Action Plan
(Action JH to amend, update and circulate a revised action plan based on feedback and comments from colleagues)
In parallel, the decision was made to pursue Phase 1 of the research proposal into ‘use of Sconul’s 7 pillars for information literacy’ as proposed by CG.

CJ provided a brief update
A successful bid to the HEA to update the original EduLIB material and re-purpose as an on-line tool was successful; the new version will be called Sir Learn-a –lot
The 2008 LILAC conference will be held at Liverpool John Moore University
