Biography:

I have been at Sheffield since 2000. I teach on the undergraduate and postgraduate courses (including modules on Information Literacy and Information Literacy Research), and am the Departmental Director of Learning and Teaching.

I was Principal Investigator on a 3 year AHRB-funded project investigating UK academics’ conceptions of pedagogy for information literacy. I am a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals, and of the Higher Education Academy. From 1992-2000 I was a lecture in the Department of Information Science, Strathclyde University. 1980-1992. I worked for the British Library, including being Manager of BLAISE Online Services and (my last post there) Manager of the British Library Business Information Service. In my spare time I unite three interests (information literacy, blogging, my digital camera) in the Information Literacy Weblog (though I sometimes do other things in my spare time too ;-)
