Biography:
My arrival in the HE library world was not conventional. Following University, I started my career as sound engineer in London. However, in 1994 I moved back into education, this time as Head of Media Services at Newcastle College. This role expanded and I became Head of Learning Technologies. Whilst at Newcastle College I gained an MSc in Education Management. In 1998 I moved back to London as Head of Learning Resources at TVU, the role which I currently occupy, although its title has changed. In effect, I manage the library function, operations and staff across six LRCs from Ealing to Reading.
Whilst at TVU I have gained PG qualifications in Information Management and Information Systems and implemented an information literacy programme, developed and delivered by the library staff.
I have been on the M25 steering Group for the past four years and chair of the M25/LHL (London Health Libraries) Working group.
