Terms of reference

• To advise the SCONUL Executive Board on performance improvement and quality issues in order to stimulate future policy and strategic development
• To respond to appropriate government and other bodies consultation exercises
• To engage with QAA and other organisations involved in quality standards in HE, both in regard to advocacy and to practical help/advice to members.
• To advocate the value and performance of library and information services within the Higher Education sector. At an institutional level to position SCONUL member libraries' staffs to engage with their local stakeholders on the value and performance of library and information service.
• To collaborate with other national and international stakeholders, to influence and respond to developments in these areas
• To investigate and disseminate practical methods of evaluating and improving the performance and quality of SCONUL libraries, including the production of performance data.
• To monitor, and report on, the Group's progress against an action plan agreed annually by the SCONUL Executive Board.
