UK implementation of EU Copyright Directive set for 31 October

On 31 October the UK will implement the EU 'Copyright Directive' (Directive 2001/29/EC on the harmonisation of certain aspects of copyright and related rights in the information society) by means of Statutory Instrument (SI2003 no.2498) laid before Parliament on 3 October.
