Access to e-resources in UK higher education libraries

27 July, 2006

Currently a tangle of legal and technical issues makes it difficult for students and staff to consult electronic resources in a higher education library they may be visiting.

In order to make such consultations simpler, SCONUL and UCISA have launched a project to help managers in libraries and information systems/services to develop simplified arrangements for academic visitors. The project will run from October 2006 for eight months, with a manager's toolkit as the main outcome.

It is called HAERVI (Higher education Access to Electronic Resources in Visited Institutions).
