On 21 February 2014 SCONUL celebrated the Library Design Awards, in recognition of newly-designed spaces which function effectively in meeting the needs of users and library staff, and which also meet the demanding requirements of a modern learning and research environment. The award identified and celebrated examples of best practice in the period 2009-2011.
Following up on this event, the winning libraries have organised visits for SCONUL members in the course of the next year.
