Caroline is University Librarian at the University of Leicester where she moved in 2013 from Nottingham Trent University. Her portfolio at Leicester includes Curriculum Development, (including student learning), Archives, Records Management and information Assurance Services. A significant part of Caroline’s professional career has been in public libraries and local government where she worked in Essex, Camden, Westminster, Richmond upon Thames and, Oxfordshire, where she was County Librarian until 2010. With academic library colleagues in the Midlands, Caroline was instrumental in establishing the Mercian Collaboration (a sub group of SCONUL) and was its first chair, before stepping down in 2017 after 3 years in the role. She is chair of SCONUL’s Workforce Development Task and Finish Group and a trustee of the National Manuscripts Conservation Trust. Caroline’s professional interests include, library and learning space design, archives and special collections, open scholarship and leadership and management development.
