The SCONUL community has a number of groups for directors and deputy directors who come together to share experience and learn from each other in an informal way. These provide a source of informal support and advice virtually and through face to face meetings. In general, groups meet once or twice a year and have between twelve and twenty members. Groups have their own lists and discussions are generally assumed to be confidential unless otherwise agreed.
There are currently four types of director groups which aim to support directors with differing requirements. They are: new directors, interim directors, directors with responsibility for converged services and directors responsible for a portfolio of services.
The SCONUL office facilitates the creation of new groups for new heads of service and deputies. If you're not already involved in one of these groups and would like to be, please register your interest by emailing sconul@sconul.ac.uk. Below are links to the details for each existing group.
