Leading for value added
This session aims to provoke a discussion about the value of academic libraries to higher education and how to evidence it. Using the University of Cumbria as a case study, the speaker will outline how the LiSS leadership team distilled the key points about the Service, using poster presentations and performance outcomes, ensuring that messages about the value of the Service were understood. Data sets used to underpin these assertions will be briefly shared which will also help to test the sustainability of the approach and through audience engagement, enhance future practice.

Andy Priestner, Information & Library Services Manager, Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, will talk about the emerging ethnographic and anthropological approaches for understanding User Experience and speculate how this evidence could be used to advocate for the library within an institution.

Lorraine Beard, Head of Digital Technologies and Services, University of Manchester
