SCONUL Future of the Systems Librarian CIG meeting
The next three meetings of the Future of the Systems Librarian CIG will each explore current themes in system librarianship. The first meeting on 20 January, will discuss the challenges and opportunities for systems librarians, and we will hear from the following speakers who will talk about current developments in systems librarianship. There will also be time for questions and discussion.
- Nicolas Moretto, Library Digital Services Manager, Royal Holloway University of London, who will share reflections on entering a HE library systems role, and provide some tips for early success.
- Natalie Wakefield, Librarian (Discovery and Access Systems), University of Nottingham, who will be talking about implementing systems at overseas campuses.
The meeting will take place on 20 January from 11am - 12.30pm, and is open to all, whatever your role or level of expertise, and we welcome the sharing of different perspectives and practices.
Please email sconul@sconul.ac.uk for registration details.
The Future of the Systems Librarian CIG is a community of practice for those interested in exploring the role of the systems librarian in supporting the evolving needs of the library and looking at challenges around recruitment and succession planning as the systems themselves continue to evolve.
