SCONUL Future of the Systems Librarian CIG meeting
The next meeting of the Future of the Systems Librarian CIG, on 30 April, will discuss people, recruitment, and progression. We will also take a closer look at the name of the Systems Librarian – is this still the most relevant name for the role?
We will hear from the following speakers, and there will also be time for questions and discussion.
- Matt Cox, Head of Content Delivery and Discovery, Anglia Ruskin University, will share reflections on a 5-year challenge to recruit a Systems Librarian.
- Sue Egleton, University Librarian, University of Reading, will be looking at entry level roles.
The meeting will take place on 30 April from 1pm - 2.30pm, and is open to all, whatever your role or level of expertise, and we welcome the sharing of different perspectives and practices.
Please email sconul@sconul.ac.uk for registration details.
The Future of the Systems Librarian CIG is a community of practice for those interested in exploring the role of the systems librarian in supporting the evolving needs of the library and looking at challenges around recruitment and succession planning as the systems themselves continue to evolve.
